ABOUT US

Mumm's the word.

Our name means two things. We mean both.

MEANING ONE

The quiet kind of leverage.

“Mum’s the word” is old English for keep it quiet. Your priorities help us negotiate, but your private limits do not need to become the seller’s starting point.

We keep the conversation in one place and share the details needed to move your request forward. You can see the offers and follow how the agreement takes shape.

Your goals guide the conversation.

MEANING TWO

Somebody who handles it.

You know the person. The one who makes the call you've been putting off for three weeks. Who asks for the supervisor. Who reads the fine print twice and doesn't hang up until it's sorted — because you're hers, and nobody overcharges hers.

Not everyone has that person. Now everyone does. Send us the bill you've been dreading, the quote that feels wrong, the trip you wish you could afford — and consider it handled.

Care like family. Persistence like it's personal.

(There's a third meaning, too. We're keeping mum about that one.)

MADE IN WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA

Built in a port town.

Wilmington has been moving cargo up the Cape Fear River — and haggling over it on the docks — for nearly three centuries. Deals are in the water here. We're not a Silicon Valley company; we're from a place where a handshake still means something, and we built Mumm to work the same way.

WHY WE EXIST

The end of take-it-or-leave-it.

For decades, most transactions were take-it-or-leave-it. Negotiating well takes time, expertise, persistence, and a thick skin — most people don’t have all four for any single bill, let alone every one. So the people with pricing teams won, and everyone else paid full freight.

A better deal is not always a discount. A family might value breakfast included; a business traveler might need a later checkout. We help you find the terms that matter to you and ask for them, without taking on all the back-and-forth yourself.

Mumm negotiates for you and keeps the conversation, offers and next steps together. Businesses can reply themselves or connect their own agent. You can see the offer being made and decide whether it works for you.

How we operate.

  • Fees tied to cash savings

The standard consumer success fee is 17.5% of verified cash savings, or 14% for Priority members. Perks do not increase that calculation. Optional annual memberships are charged separately.

  • You control what you agree to

Review the proposed price, extras and terms before accepting. Any authority you give Mumm sets the boundaries for what we can do on your behalf.

  • Mumm's the word on your data

We never sell your personal information. We share the details needed to handle your request, and keep your unrelated personal information out of the seller’s conversation.

  • A clear deal for both sides

Businesses can receive and answer requests without a paid membership in the manual merchant pilot. Any applicable fees are separate from the price and terms you agree with the seller.

Tell Mumm what you want.

We’ll handle the negotiation with your priorities in mind.
